I know summer is basically over for most of us, and the wretched horror story that is school has already ensued, but I refuse to acknowledge those facts. Summer is what you make of it, after all, so why can't it be as
long as you make of it as well. I'm just saying. Anyways, if you're bored and truly have nothing to do, one thing I advise would be a photo shoot. And if you have virtually no friends (like me) and are always on your phone (like me), I advise a photo shoot involving items that mean something to you or items that just happen to be really artistic and look good in pictures. Coincidentally, most of the items I "hired" for my "photo shoot" actually relate to some aspect of my life.
The Departure Magazine, if I'm being completely honest, definitely does not look as good today as it does in my photographs. I have cut up the cover, torn the pages, added stickers, spilled caffeinated concoctions one the whole book, and much more. Pretty much anything that you wouldn't want to one person to do to an amazing fashion magazine, well that is exactly what I did; some actions more intentional than others. It's not that this specific magazine is significant to me; however, what it is conceived of is. The Departure Mag' contains photography, beauty, riches, exotic locations, decadent foods, writing pieces, and of course fashion. All of these things are part of who I am. I love photographing what probably seem like random things to the average individual. I love experimenting with the standard idea of beauty and coming up with my own. I love visiting different countries and learning different cultures. I love literature and journalism; writing has gotten me through some difficult times. Lastly, I, most definitely and without a doubt, love fashion and everything that comes with it.
Most of my other items in this picture revolve around the topics I previously said the Departure Magazine encompasses. The makeup bag (with a motivational quote on the front), is actually filled with makeup. This makeup allows me to be whoever I want to be whenever I want to be that person. It also allows me to experiment with my peers' opinions on appearances. The Covergirl
Smoochies chapstick is one of my favorites; I actually have a collection of multiple chapsticks. The Olay Fresh Effects products keep my skin clear and allow makeup experimentation to be a fun, non-stressful pastime.
Lastly, my headphones. My teal, blue-green head phones that I got a $5 & Under store on a road-trip with my best friend. So far, they haven't failed me. They've always been there for me when I want to listen to music and don't feel the need to have anyone judging me based on what I listen to. It'd be hard to determine my personality based on my Spotify songs (I'm always on Spotify). I listen to almost all genres. From Kendrick Lamar, to Regina Spektor, to Panic at the Disco, to Black Veil Brides, to Jay Z, to Ingrid Michaelson, to Jason Mraz, to Fall Out Boy, to Ed Sheeran, to Taylor Swift, and so many more. Music undoubtedly a part of me that won't be going away. My tastes may change, but my love for a truly good song, no matter what genre, will always remain.
So, now you've learned a bit about me and have something to do when you're bored. Wow, I'm in a very giving/story-telling mood this evening. Hope you enjoyed this random spouting of personal weirdness. If you hated it or hate me, don't worry,
I still love you.
Sincerely Yours,
Kay
